THE LEGACY
Jace Connor had a lot to live up to.
He was raised to believe in justice.
In service.
In something greater than himself.
His father had been a famed SWAT commander. His mother, a medical missions doctor. After his father’s early retirement from the LAPD, the family followed her work—eventually settling on the west coast of Guatemala.
And then there was his little sister. Like an awkward fawn, Olivia was still growing into her teenage legs.
Always barefoot.
Always laughing.
Always with a flower in her hair.
At least, that was how Jace remembered her.
He had been home on spring break. Perfect surf. Sun-drenched sunsets.
Now—a bitter memory.
Back at Arizona State, the State Department came knocking.
They said it was a random home invasion.
They said no witnesses had come forward.
They said the case was closed.
A few months later, Jace walked into a recruiter’s office at the Phoenix Metro Police Department. They saw what they wanted to see—a resilient young man, a nationally ranked athlete, easygoing, disciplined.
A good man. From a good family.
Too good to be true.
If the background investigator, the polygraph examiner, or the department psychologist had understood his real motivations, they never would have hired him.
Because Jace had no intention of living up to his legacy.
He needed the training.
The badge.
The gun.
Where the government had done nothing—
he would.
Jace knew he wasn’t a good man.
And what he was about to do wasn’t good.
But he told himself—
it was justice.

I’m anxiously waiting for the book to get printed. I’ll be first in line to buy one, I like the writing style and the storyline. I think TD Mack has a real future as an author!
After reading the “teaser” I can’t wait to read this book. I can even see this playing out in a blockbuster movie. Can’t wait.
